Annual Report 2015

We continue to make progress in supporting the work done by our Ugandan partner, the Ma
kerere Palliative Care Unit (MPCU) in Kampala. The projects are now well established and significant progress can be seen in the development of teams and individuals working in them. We are very proud to be part of this and to work with them to identify ways to extend the scope of the projects further.

The support of our new trustees, Dr Michael and Liz Minton, has been invaluable and helped enormously to keep us connected with MPCU and raising further funds. Fundraising has continued through the year, with some key events undertaken by individuals, as well as a second generous donation from ArcAid via Liz Minton to fund a second year of the information nurse post at MPCU.

Liz has also generated a link with BOAT, an Oxford charity which is interested in supporting the projects.

We are very grateful for the support from all our donors and hope they will continue to support us in the future.

Next year we will focus on the implementation of the strategic plan, with fundraising as a key objective, but also to raise wider awareness and involve more donors on a regular basis with the charity. As always we have had fantastic support from lots of different people and nothing at all would happen without this.

I hope the UCT Annual Report 2015 will give you an insight into the work that we are trying to do and the use we are making of your generous help, so another big thank you to everyone and please keep on supporting us.
