Support Edward running 10K for Uganda Cancer Trust UK

We’re really excited that Edward Mukasa is taking part in the 10K relay event at the first ever Uganda International Marathon on 24th May 2015 on behalf of Uganda Cancer Trust UK. Show your support to Edward and help raise money to support cancer patients in Uganda by donating via JustGiving or Givey.

Edward MukasaEdward is studying at Uganda Christian University, Mukono, near Kampala, to become a teacher of geography. He lives with his father and younger sister, and to help his father, Edward generates all their college and school fees through making and selling bricks for buildings.

In his spare time, both he and his sister love running. Edward runs for the University and has taken part in the World University Cross Country championships in 2014 where the Uganda team came second only to Kenya, Africa University Cross Country championships in 2013 and the East Africa University games in 2012 in Dar es Salaam. Every year since 2006 he has also taken part in the Kampala MTN marathon running the 10k distance.

Edward loves the fitness, the challenge and the company of running. He would love to progress onto a wider stage, but in the meantime takes on any opportunity to improve his skill.

Edward’s mother was treated for throat cancer in 2004 at Mulago Hospital, Kampala so Edward is keen to run the 10k race at the Uganda International Marathon in May as he wants to support the work of Uganda Cancer Trust at the hospital where his mother sadly passed away.

Please give him your support and at the same time help the work of the Palliative Care volunteers in their support for cancer patients at Mulago via JustGiving or Givey.
